So you want to access internet on the road but do not want to pay the expensive monthly fee these mobile carriers charge!  What can you do?  If you want to access internet on your cell phone there is no way but to get a data plan from the carrier.  If you are  carrying a laptop around, then there is a way!

   Virgin mobile offers BroadBand2Go plans. You have to buy the above 3G/4G modem. There are several plans available with no contract like $5/Day for 200MB.  $30/Month for 2GB etc.  I used this service and it works quite well.
